About Dr. DeBoard
Dr. DeBoard is a heart surgeon in Hamilton New Zealand. He completed medical school at the University of Washington in Seattle. He then followed with a residency in general surgery at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California. During residency he developed a great appreciation for the complexity of cardiac surgery and the profound benefits it yields to patients. Dr. DeBoard a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.
During his training, he was active in research across a variety of surgical subspecialties. He has presented at regional & international conferences and is published in multiple medical journals. Dr. DeBoard remains active in surgical education, research, and numerous professional societies.
He has special training and career focus in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, atrial fibrillation, hybrid ablation, surgical ablation (MAZE procedure) and left atrial appendage ligation (AtriClip).
